____________________________________________________________

To honour our City’s 100 year history, it was decided to host the largest Homecoming party this community has ever seen.

Whitney and Tisdale townships are where it all began in 1909. Those 2 townships were organized and became known as Golden City, Pottsville, South Porcupine and Schumacher in 1910. When the Great Porcupine Fire razed the area in July, 1911, the true spirit of Northerners shone, for as soon as the earth cooled, buildings went up, commerce started anew and life came back into the Gold Camp.

That Northern spirit is alive and vibrant today, just as it was a century ago and through the hard work and dedication of many, this Homecoming is for you. Whether you were born here or not, whether you went to school here or not, to be a part of this Homecoming all you had to do was live here (or wish you did!). Activities are planned for all age groups. There will be at least eight different official venues in Porcupine and South Porcupine for you to meet old friends, be entertained, reminisce and learn about our fascinating history.

Browse through this website, check back often as events are updated and plan to come HOME during the festivities on July 29, 30, 31 and August 1, 2011. Don’t miss it, for there won’t be another party like this one for 100 years!

Registration is closed.
